Beginning with an inquiry into arrangements and patterns of color in nature, I realized that "color theory" doesn't begin on the color wheel, but is already displayed perfectly before us. Various hues and shades of rain soaked landscapes, a snapshot of a cone-like purple flower from a walk, feelings and thoughts condensed until words are no longer attached to them, but are more aptly explained in a harmony of color. These concentrated memories are what lie behind these works in a potency of gesture and mark-making, a joyful expression of the beauty available to us to savor and rejoice in.
